Solar rebates by state
Solar rebates by state — compared
The federal STC discount applies nationwide, and some states add their own targeted solar programs. Compare what may be available in every state and territory, then check your postcode.
For most Australian homes and businesses, the main solar incentive is the federal Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) discount, which applies nationwide and is taken off the price upfront. On top of that, some states run their own (often more targeted) solar programs. Here’s how it compares.
The federal STC discount reduces the upfront cost of eligible rooftop solar (up to 100 kW) across every state and territory. It steps down each January toward 2030.
